Musical and Dramatic Society.
At the adjourned general meeting of the above Society, held m the Club Hotel last evening, there were present — Messrs E. Johnston, McKenna, Piram, Hawkins, Black, and Healy. Later on m the meeting Messrs Pa§coo and Weight were also m attendance. Mr McKenna was voted _to. the chair, : and callediou the secretary, pro tern., to road the minutes of last meeting, which were duly confirmed. The resignations" of the secretary and stage * manager were then duly, cpnsidesed. ■:. The ; former was. accepted,: and a vote.; of : thanks accorded to Mr Haybittle forpist; services. It was resolved to interview' Mr !Ly Abraham and- ask.~lmn/t'p' continue to act as stage manager till after/ th? next; performance. The statement; --M receipts and expenditure in' connection with; the last entertainment was then laid before tho meeting. It was resolved to write to the lessee of the Hall demanding the; sum of 30s for chairs missing from Hall a£ ter the last performance- Mr E, Johnston was elected Treasurer, and Mr Pirani secretary, and Mr G. E. Hawkins' name was also added to the committee. It was resolved that no entertainments ba given for charitable aid m future, without the. cqnsent'pf a 'general meeting. The "next entertainment was arranged to take the form of a concert and farce, to be m, aid of the wardrobe of the club. No business of further importance was transacted, and the meeting separated.
