(Special to t/ie Standard.J Tho Mayor of Wanganui has received a telegram from the Governor's Private Secretary sayin? that his Excellency is going to Rangitikei to stay at Mr Arkwright's next week, and will visit Warigumii on the 3rd October. Tho Premier lias left Wellington for Dnnedin for ten days; on his return the Native Minister takes a short holiday. ■Mr Larnach is slowly recovering. The Railway Board appeal sat at Christ-church yesterday to enquire into a complaint made by a blacksmith named Davis who had been dismissed from Addington by the foreman, Jones. After sorna evidence had been taken, ' Davis called on Mr Rotheram to produce documentary evidence. The latter refused. Mr Betthatn, Chairman of the Board, refused to go on as documents were being withheld. A telegram, from Auckland states that the Auckland and Wanganui prospector* have been turned back by the Natives. As regards the Wanganui men it . is not believed to be true, as a telegram was received three days back saying they were m the ranges.
