That Famous Writ.
Mr Smith says m his paper that he i won't apply for a writ against us. What, after that lons* fierce letter ? _We can hardly write for laughing. How cowed the fire-eating warrior has become all at once ; We always thought his bark was much more dangerous than his bite. We will, however, let him down easily. He'll yet chaffed enough over it, and we will refrain from rubbing it m on the present oc casion. But does it not strike him that he has made himself rather ridiculous with his tall threatening letters, anrl his blatherskite about writs, &c. He can stand down, however, and we trust he will not act so foolishly again. .
