' In order to give our readers a fuller : resume of' the Public-Works Statement than we could otherwise have done, we publish as a supplement to to-ctay's issue : a copy of the Wanganui Chronicle, as no "doubt many of pur subscriber's would be anxioiis to learn the nature of the pro posals as farly as possible. The State ment m esctenso contains , nearly 20,000 words, but the summarised epitome given m the Chronicle contains all the salient features, special prominence being given to details of local and general importance.' Our numerous -readers m town and country will doubtless appreciate our desire to afford them the earliest and- fullest information possible with regard to the contents' of the Statement, the delivery which has been looked forward to with such eager interest for a considerable time past.
