An Attempt to Intimidate.
Mr Jaineß King attempted to intimidale our reporter at the conclusion of tlie annual meeting of the Mauawntu Racing Club, held at the Commercial Hotel last evening. Mr King, do not al-. ways get off by payment of a fine, as m the case heard at th« Police "Court , this morning when the accused was sentenced to a month m gaol with ' hard labour. The proceedings at the meeting will of course be reported ag'they took place, notwithstanding the threat of personal violence used by way ot iritiniidatioh.
