Clalrvoyancy Displayed and Spiritism Exposed.
•■■-■. T Professor and Mrs Clara Baldwin the world-famed 'American clairvoyants and mesmerists, opened m the Fo posts Hall last evening to a good house. Before referring m any way to, the programme , produced last night, we.^vyill just state' that the entertainment throughout is one thoroughly good, highly amusing and, most undoubtedly the best show of the kind that has ever appeared m Palmerstoni Committee was selected to examine and satisfy the audience as to the genuineness of the toats performed by the professor— the following gentlemen un de"r taking this responsible post— Messrs Snelsoh, Clapperton, J. C. Hanna, Marriner, Waldegrave, and A. Stewart. The first part of the performance, was iinder- ' taken by the professor and for over . an hour and an half this gentleman kept the audience spell bound with his marvellous and dexterous exploits, skillfully and genuinely performed. Mrs Baldwin's interpretations (whilst m trance) of the thoughts ot individuals m the audience is something almost staHlihg and as far as we could perceive is a thoroughly genuine transaction, •were pronoun led oq paper only or simply by thought, and without any : verbal statement being made, the cataleptic intrepreter gave both the .questions themselves and the .answer thereto as well m almost ■ ihe -satiie words -as^ thoae_ thought of. Thq performance will be repeated to-night for the last time and wo should recommend tbose who feel at all inclined, not to miss the"^ chance of witnessing those really clever artists. Mrs Baldwin,:will if at all well enough, repeat the thought-reading to-nierht.
