DEFENSIVE MEASURES IN SYDNEY COMPLETED.
TORPEDOES SUBMERGED IN WESTERN CHANNEL.
BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.— COPYRIGHT (REUXE ,I'S TELEGRAMS.') Sydney, April 28. The Government have received a telegram from Sir Saul Samuel, Agent-General of New South Wales amouneing that the British Government have accepted the offer of the services of the New South Wales Soudan contingent for employment in India if circumstances render it necessary to withdraw the British troops from Egypt. The whole of the defensive measures for the protection of Port Jackson have been completed, including sub-mergence of torpedoes in the Western Channel.
