A RESCUED CREW.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Ceebistchukch, April 20. The brigantine Omaha, which ar. rived from the Chatham Islands last evening, brought as passengers Captain A. Classen and nine seamen of i ho Hamburg owned barque Pladen, which, was wrecked on Waugarou Island. An inquiry was held,' and the captain and officers were exonerated from all' blame. They were seven weeks on the island before un opportunity occurred for getting away. Captain Classen expresses his obligation to Mr Ritchie for his valuable assistance m saving the crew, also to Mr Hood and Captain tyleiklehxm (<»f t» e Omaha). Captain Classen went, through to Christchurch this morning to consult with the German Consul. The crew are at present m tlie Ly tteltou Sailors' Home.
