Good Templars and the Licensing Act.

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Ashurton, April 8. The Grand Lodge, 1.0. G.T., resumed this morning at 9 o'clock, and continued the consideration of the official teports, which were adopted. It was resolved to rescind the resolution seeking severance from the W.G'.L. ; that the executive urge upon the Government the necessity of taking vigorous measure* for the better enfoicement of the provisions of the Licensing Act regarding the illegal sale of liquor during prohibited hours, and to this end that inspectors of licensed houses be appointed, as provided for in* the Licensing Act. Fraternal greetings- were received from the Grand Lodge of Victoria, which is now m session* Resolutions were adopted recommending the friendly societies not to meet m licensed houses, and that the Government open the Savings Banks from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Ad address of wolcome was presented to Mr Samuel Capper.
