The following vessels will form the German squadron m the Pacific:— The Stosch, Marie, Albatross, and Hysene. They will be under the command of Commodore Pascben. 'March 3. The steamer Braeman, bound from Glasgow to Port Chalmers, which got dismasted and put into Stornaway has been towed into Greenoek for repairs. Arrived, at Plymouth — Orient R.M.S. Australia, frnra Melbourne, Jan. 13. Berlin, March 3. It is announced that Germany has assumed the protectorate over territory hitherto heid by the Colonising Society situated to the west of Zanzibar on the African coast.
