The Waring Taylor Prosecution.

At the adjourned hearing William Waring Taylor was charged with !the unlawful conversion and misappropriation of the following moneys and pro-\. perties between the 31st Marbh, 1882, and the 20th June, 1884 :— £1053, beingthe proceeds of a mortgage known as "the J. London. Between March ,31, 1882, ( and the 28th June, 1884, sum's amounting m the aggregate to i' 5729, the proceeds of certain mortgages forming part of l the May estate. . Between June 6,, 1882, and [28th June, 1884, a sum amounting to \ £368, proceeds of a sale of shares m the Permanent Investment and Loan Assq-: j ciation, forming part of the May estate. - Between the same dates, sums amounting m the aggregate to £1278, amounts of certain rents and interests received from Messrs Lewis and Gould, agents ' m the May estate. Between the same dates sums amounting m the aggregate ; to £7868, moneys- obtained from' Messrs Lewis and Gould, agents m the May estate. Between the 6th June, 1882, and the 28th June, 1884, 352 shares m the capital stock of the Colonial Bank of New Zealand. Between the same date, a sum of money amounting to .£849, proceeds of the sse of the last mention-; fd Shared ■ . • ( Mr Jelliooe ; appeared for the prosecution, and Mr Shaw for the defence. • Mr Jellicoe pointed out that information had been laid against accused, which, by consent of counsel for. accussed, might be taken coniointly with these. The information chargjflg Taylor with misappropriating certain moneys out of the May trust whjch had bee^ bequeathed to charitable institutions, was then added to the others.
