Native News.

Hori Eopilia called on us (Waipawa Mail) a few days ago to tell. us his views on England and Englishmen.. He has now gone on to Wairarapa. to address the Maoris there on the land question. He has been speaking on the* same subject at Waipawa Pa, and at Hastings where the Native Land Court is sitting. He advices the natives not to sell their lands, that it is different to other property, and .should, not be sold, but he wishes it to be leased m small blocks to small settlers. He appears to have a terrible down on the Bank of New Zealand, and especially the Patea Studholme Company. He warns the Maoris to beware of these great bands of speculators, and says he > does not object to a Land-tax to be paid out of the rent of the land, but expresses fear that the natives will be reduced to beggary by land monopoly. He says the Studholme Company Jiave no*' 1090 square miles of Maori lands under lease and they are becoming too powerful. The trip, to England has evidently done Hori a lot of good m quickening his mind, and' he has returned 'almost an out and out follower of Henry George.
