Napier Hospital.

A month ago we -reported and animadverted upon the proceedings at a meeting of the Napier Hospital Board, as the nrost disgraceful affair we hud ever known or seen reported. It is almost incredible to read m Wednesday's Napier Herald, a report of a still more disgraceful meeting, which extends over two columns and a half of the paper, and yet does not record the. smallest amount of business done, as upon the reading of the minutes an unseemly dispute, arose between Mr Knowles, the Chairman, and 'Mr- W. J. Harker, the honourable Secretary and a 'Life-Governor of the .Hospital. • Confusion reigned supreme for a tine, dating which IVfr Banner was declared to be the Secretary, and ordeied to take Mr Harker's place: We take the conclusion from the Herald's report : — " At this stage the Chairman, holding 1 the niiniitobook under his arm, left the table and procured a chair, placing it opposite where Mr Harker was sitting, and culled upon Mr Banner, who was sitting in' the. chamber, -to take ' his" seat, asisecretai-y. Mr-Tiffen and several Members of the Committee here loft the room, and the proceedings became very disorderly. Mi" Harker gathered up the books and papers (les* the minute-book still held by the Chairman) and ?ave them to his clerk. He then turned and addressed the audience, asking them to witness that he was forcibly kept from possession of the minute-book, and stating that he disowned any responsibility m connection with any entries that might - Hereafter be found m Ihe niinute-^book, He then made several attempts to take the minute-book from Mr Hnowle3, wno thi'eatened to strike Mr Harker if he laid hands on him; (Mr Knowles), and the meeting broke up m grait confusion."
