H. J. LLOYD'S ESTATE.
Present — debtor only, who said he was pushed by J. Nathan & Co. taking out an order of committal against him. Sold business m Palmerston two years ago to the Palmerston Brewery Company. If the Company fulfilled their agreement last 'April, I should have had a clear £1000 coming to me. I accepted £200 from OUivier, m settlement of the Brewery Company claim. Most of this I paid away to creditors. A property m Broad-street, valued at £1400 four years ago, and at that time mortgaged for £900, was subsequently mortgaged to Miss Kelly for £300, she being guarantee to the Bank of Australasia tor same. The Bank called up this sum, which Miss Kelly paid. This property was afterwards sold and realized £1000. The £900 and other moneys was put into the brewery business. Host £2000 m that business. At that time my houßehold expenses did not exceed £450 per annum. Gave Mr Simcdx and Miss Kelly a bill of sale over household effects, 3 years ago, security for trade overdraft £600. Furniture sold by Mr Simcox and realized £290. Lived on Rangitikei Line after this; horrowed £150 from 'Stevens and Gorton on security of cattle &c. Started hop growing at Awahuri afterwards m June 1883. Settled household furniture and personal effects on Mrs 1 Lloyd to prevent creditors seizing ,them. \
