MBS OHARMQCK, COMMITTED - FOB TRIAL.
(UNITED PBESB ASSOCIATION.) New Plymouth, -August 20. The adjourned inquest on the burning of Charmock's house m 1883 was concluded last evening, Several ad" ditiorial witnesses were called/ and the jury returned the following veidict:i" The jury are of opinion that the premises of George Qharmock, St Aubyn-Btreot, were wilfully set on . fire on the 20th January, 1883, and the evidence points to Mrs Oharmock as the guilty partyi" The jury added a rider to the effect that credit was due to Serfjt. Major Pardy for the skill he had shown m bringing out the evidence after so long a time had elapsed since the fire/ The Coroner committed Mrs Oharmock for trial on a charge of arson, and Mr Oharmock was remanded, as Mr Pardy stated he •would have to bring both prisoners before another court on other charges.
