We have to acknowledge receipt from the Grovcrument Printer of a number of Parliamentary papers. In a letter to the Post, Mr W. T; L. Travers writes : — " I never had the slightest intention to become a candidate for the Foxton Beat." The natives are elated at their achievement. Messrs Stevens & Gorton's next sale at Awahuri will be held on June 20th. The entries at present received are published m our advertising columns. They include two-and-a-half-year-old steers, yoarlings, mixed cattle, lambs m wool, ewes m lamb, horses, etc. Some hitch has occurred (says the Wanganui Herald) over the removal of names from one roll to another. The law requires that a person has-only to reside m a district for one month iv order to ! have.his nameitranf erred to the roll of 4hat district". The modus operandi is that ■ ho has to apply to the Registrar of Electors of the district he has loft, for certi Abate, which he takes to the Registrar of the district m which he has become a resident. The Bishop of Nelson, N.Z., strongly -contends that marriage with the deceased wife's sister is not forbidden m the Word of God. The Queen's Ilotiel, at Graf ton, is the only publichouse m Auckland or. suburbs which is lioonsed to be open until 11. The."
