THE PROSPECTING PARTY TURNED BACK.

Considerable interest was evinced m towu yesterday, says the Chronicle, when it became known that the party sent up by the prospecting Compauy to test the Tuhua country had returned, the natives not having permitted them to commence operations m the Tuhua country proper. The chief obstruction to the progress of the party was apparently Wahanui, who disputes the ownership of the land, and it is for this reason that the party were not allowed to go through.
