At Palmerston, on May 13, we yarded over 50 head of cattle and about 1200 sheep. The attendance was good, and the sale more spirited than usual, especially as regards sheep, and we were able to quit nearly all the pens. The following are the rates realized ;—Fat cows' £4 to £4 15s ; fa< bullocks, £6 ss ; cows and calves, £2 7s 6d to £2 15s ; fat wethers, 10s 3d to lls 6d ; fat ewes, 9s ; mized fat sheep, 9s lOd ; 2-tooth. wethers, 8s 3d ; store ewes, 5s 8d to 6s 4d ; old ewes, 4s. AtA^ahuri, on May 16, we had one of the most satisfactory sales wo have held for some months. Owing to the large number of sheep entered, we took no cattle excepting a pen of fat cows, which realized £3 10a to £4; (he cattle yards being given up to the sheep. We yarded about 2600 sheep, and with the exception of a pen of wethers and few old ewes, we quitted all under the hammer at a decided improvement on late rates. The following were the prices realized : — Fat weUiers, medium, 9s to 10s ; store wether*, 7s 10d to 8s 9d; Roinney, f-bred ewes m lamb, 9s ; store ewes, good quality, 7s lid; old ewes, ss; cull lambs, 2s 6d to 2s 7d. PigsGood, 37s 6d ; good store pigs, 10s to 30s. Guod hacks, £4 5s to £7 10s.
