THIS DAY.

(Before R. "Ward, Esq., R.M.) LARRIKIN ISM. Three lads named respectively W. E. and AV. H. Haines, atid Gaustad, were charged separately with having placed obstructions in the street on NewYear's morning. Gaustad only appeared. • After evidence had been given the R.M. fined- each of the accused £2 and costs 7s, in default of distress, s«ven -days' imprisonment in Wanganui Gaol. FIGHTING IN THE STREET. Denis O'Neil and Thomas Bowden charged as above were fined 10s each, with costs 7.5. The magistrate said he would not inflict a heavy penalty. EFFECTS OF DRINK. Joseph Heaps, a groom, was charged with being drunk while in charge of a horse. This occurred last evening, the accused having ridden the racer, Kiwi, furiously dowu the Foxton Line. Accused pleaded guilty. Fined £1. ANOTHER CHARGE. The same defendant was charged with wilful damage to proper tu, in having broken tvo panes of glass, and a front door, also done sundry other damage to a house down the Fox (on Lino, estimated damage £3 ss. I Fined 10s and costs of damage, £3 ss, oosts of Court, 7s, witness expenses 7s. Total, £495. PROHIBITION ORDER. Order made against G. Boyd on application of police. CIVIL CASES. J. F. Heaton v. J. Bradley. Order made for payment on 31st January. J. T. Davis v. J. Lorrigan; — Claim for bushfelling. Judgement for plaintiff and costs. \ Palmerston Brewery Co., v. F. Gil— left — Claim £10. Judgment for amount and costs, 15/-, witness, 17/-. G. Boyd v. Mrs Colonial). — Summons to be enlarged. ! . REHEARING. j, Manson v. Sorrenseu. — Application for rehearipg, granted on previous costs of plaintiff being paid by defendant. ABSENTEE OWNERS. T. S. Hoe, collector Manawatu Road Board, v owners of sections as enumerated in advertisement already published. i Judgment ex parte in each case for amount due and costs. J. C, Shere v.' Bait— Claim £5 for contract for fencing. Mr Prior for plaintiff, Mr Hawkins for defendant, Defendant contended that contract had been subsequently rescinded by mutual agreement. After a lengthy hearing iplniutiff was non-suited, no order for costs being made, [Left Sitting.]
