The Salvation Army.
A York correspondent of the fctandard says : > — " Some few night ago there was held m the large Circus rented by the Salvationists a 'long all-night meeting,' and part of the service consisted of (to use their own term) * Creeping tor Jesus/ and it is a positive fact that daring this pare the place was m complete darkness for two hoars, the gas having beea tamed oat purposely, as is customary on. the occasions. Now, Sir, there were presant pars an* of all ages, sexes, and positions, and the idea witn them of 'Creeping for Jesus' means crawling about the flour indisriminately amongst each other. . When we read m. the papers two days ago of a case where a young girl named Barnes prosecuted one of the * Captains' for indecently insalting her, and of the girl, on leaving the Court, having been mobbed by the Salvationists, there appears to be only one conclusion to be drawn." Another correspondent donies the gas was put QUt.
