Telegmms from Newcastle state that the action at law, brought by IVir Law against hi* former employers, Messrs >L ani A. Btown, was concluded to-day. Th? jury awaided substantial damajres, and the plaintiff was entirely exoner teii from the charges preferred against him. Sailed this afternoon— P.M. B. City of I Sydney, for Ban Francisco, via Auckland, wi f h specie valued at £14,500; and l'ni»n steamship Hauroto, for Wellington, via Newcastle. Melbourne, June 14. The intercolonial bridge across the River Murray at Albury was opened today. Demonstrations took place ai Albury, and addresses were presented to the Marquis of Normanby, and to Lord Loftus. Among those present were members of the Victorian and New South Wales Ministries, and Legislative Assemblies, the Judges and M <yors of the principal towns, with 800 invited guests. The National Anthem was sung . by the school children, and the s'roets and the town were gaily decorated. Alter the formal opening of the bridge a bauqnet was given^ ■Bt which fully a thousand persons were present, m the railway sheds adjoining. A ball will take place tomorrow eveniner.
