Melancholy OccurRENCE.
[Po<t.] A New Plymouth telegram published m our lost issue recorded the death of " Mr W. H. Taylor," after a very brief illness. W e deeply regret to learn that i the initials were erroneously telegraphed, and that it is a gentleman who is very well-known m Wellington, and who was greatly liked and respected on all hands, that has thus passed away, namely, Mr W. E. Taylor, formerly connected with Messrs Kirkcaldie and Stains' business, and a prominent member of the Masonic fraternity. The late Mr Taylor was, indeed, W.M. of the Pacific Lodge m this city last year, and has held other I'igh offices m the craft. His unciniuly death will be generally deplored both by the fraternity and by a lar^e circle of friends. Mrs Taylor, who left lor Kew Plymouth to-day, only heard of her i.u^band's illness yesterday morning, and a few hours later a second telegram brought th» sad news of his death. Very groat sympathy is felt.
