When he was extricated it was not known what injuries he had received, but he has sines died. A prisoner named Heap, who had been seoteneed to seven years imprisonment for an assault upon his wife hanged himself m the cell next morning. Three native have been sentenced to death for the murder of another native. A Chinese named Ah Kett has been convicted at the criminal sittings of the Supreme Court of the brutal murder of another Chinese at Roeburne. The victim had been fearfnlly hacked with a tomahawk, the object of the crime being revenge for evidence given against the murderer m a ph.eepstealing case.
