Stubbs, chairman of the board. of advice for the South Pacific Oil springs Company, visited tb.6 works on Moniay morning, anil found operations m full swing. The depth at midday was 154 ft; the strata is pupa and clay. A little oil was exuding, and there was a slight ebulition of gaa. The drive, pipes are going down satisfactorily.
