As some persons have signed a requisition to Mr. Eyes, as well as to Mr. Weld, to stand as the representative of the Wairau District in the General Assembly, it is necessary to state that they have done so through the supporters of Mr. Eyes having falsely represented that Mr. Weld would stand for Picton, and leave the Wairau open to Mr. Eyes.
