WHAT IS A COUGH ?
A spasmodic effort to expel the mucus from the bronchial tubes. A cold causes a more abundant secretion of mucus, and when the lungs and bronchiai tubes are inflamed, they are extremely sensitive to the irritation- Unless care is taken, tire cold may result in pneumonia, which is swift and deadly. If the cold is a lingering one, the more leisurely but equally; fatal. consumption may set in. Do not neglecj a cold or cough. Take Chamberlain’s* Cough Remedy. It always cures and cures quickly- A. Manoy sells it. - The following is the Balance Sheet of the district fund of the Inglewood Borough Council for the period from 16tb March to the 31 March, 1903 :--- Receipts, nil. Expenditure, nil. Examined and found correct. —J. KL. Warburton, Controller and AuditorGeneral. Robert Ellis, Town Clerk. Pat returned from the City after a holiday, and meeting his priest one day, stopped to tell his adventures. “Now, of all the sights you saw, what object struck you most, in fact left the deepest impression on you ?” asked the priest. “Faith ! and it was a brick from' a scaffold that struck me most, and left its deepest impression on me !” said Pat showing a cut on his forehead.
Early to bed, early to rise, makes a* man healthy, and wealthy, and wise. So said our forefathers, but the modern medical man knows better. One of them, whose practice is in New York, asserts that the harrassed-looks, wornout appearance, and general irritability of many of his patients is caused bv the reprehensible habit of getting up too early in the morning. A case of very great importance to tradesmen was decided by Mr Turnbull S.M. (says the Napier Telegraph), Briefly, two persons were in partnership m a livery stable business* One of them left after a few weeks of partnership, but did not publicly notify the fact that he had left the- business. The remaining partnei, some time afterwards, filed his schedule. One of the creditors sued the man who had been a partner for so short a time and obtained judgment and costs against hi in for a large amount.
It Will Not Do to fool with a bad cold No on can tell what the end will be. Pheumonia, catarrh, chronic bronchitis and consumption invariably result from a neglected cold. As a medicine for the cure of colds, cough and influenza, nothing can compare with Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy. It always cures and cures quickly. A. Manoy sells it:
A pigeon match, took place at Auckland last, week between Mr G. H. Corrick, New South Wales, and Mr D. Fraser, Auckland. There were several hitches in arranging the preliminaries of this contest, and the distance from which shots were to be fired was an especially vexed question, but according to latest advices the distance was to be 33 yards for each marksman. The match was for £loo,*Mr Corriek firing with imported amberite, and Mr Fraser with colonial ammunition. The shooting may be without exaggeration—as marvellous, for Corriek dropped 97 birds out of 100 and his opponent with the very creditable record of 90-birds out of 100.
