UPPER MOUTERE ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Board was held on the 28th February. Present : Messrs Beuke (chairman), G. and F. Benseman, 'Wilkins, and Drogmuller. Minutes of previous meeting confirmed. Accounts amounting to £ 2 5 Ss gd passed. Correspondence read from Chief Surveyor, Nelson, re Govt grants ; from Public Health Dept; from E. Eggers applying for certain work to be'done on road leading to Supplejack Valley, also for line of road. Tenders were opened for Govt grant works, Upper Moutere and Neudorf-Dove-dale roads. For Upper Moutere, the tenders of Messrs J. Bensemann for two contracts at ;£i6 and £l2 respectively were accepted. and for the remainder the tenders of C. Best at 10s, 12s, and 15s per chain were accepted. Neudorf-Dovedale : Dencker’s Hill, lowering and forming, Ewers accepted; water tabling, Dovedale Hill, C. and L. Ewers is per chainaccepted. Resolutions passed : That theapproahes to the newbridgesupplejack road be attended to, and that the question of painting the joins in the bridge be held over for a month ; that the rising sun valley road be repaired from the mill road to Wilkens’ ; that in reply to C. Eggers a deputation be appointed to meet on the road.
