The wool consisted of inferior, dingy, crossbred and crutchings, and sold at late rates. Skins which have lately been ruling at high figures experienced a decline of about a farthing per lb on last sale rates. We quote: —Wool— Coarse crossbred, inferior and dingy, 2fd to per lb ; crutchings l|d to Skins —Merinos .and halfbreds 4d to sfd per lb ; fine crossbred, good, 4d to 4gd ; coarse to medium crossbred 3|d to 4|d ; inferior and damaged crossbred 2|d to 34J ; dead and hoggets 2gd to 3|d; lambs 3|d to 4gd. An air using story of literary censorship jeomes from America. ‘‘Huckleberry Finn,” Mark Twain’s story, has been debarred from the Denver Public Library for these reasons, furnished by Librarian Dudley : “The book by certain people is held to be immoral; ‘Huckleberry Finn,’ without mine ng words, denounces the Sunday School, arrd does not attend that institution ; he indulges in profanity and tells things more serious than fibs in order to wriggle expeditiously and safely out of embarrassing situations ; all of which are held to be highly prejudicial to the morals and good bringing up of youthful readers.
