RIWAKA ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the above Board was held*laat Friday evening. Present : ’Messrs Drummond (chair), Pattie, Jaimes, Fry, Holder, and Cook.. Minutes of previous and special meeting read and adopted. Correspondence received from Mr R, McKenzie re charges On Government grants being disallowed, also giving list of amounts to be placed on the Estimates ; also one from the Lands and Survey Department referring to grants asked for. Accounts amounting to Ll 6 12s lOd were passed for payment. Mr W. Castle waited upon the Board and asked that, the money available be spent on the road from , Kaiterit-eri to Sandy Bay. It was decided to take no action at present. On the motion of Mr Fry, seconded by Mr Holder it was resolved that a new cart bridge be built near Mr E. Drummond’s. Proposed by Mr Pattie, seconded by Mr James and carried, That the dayman repair the Wharf road and footbridge. It was decided to invite tenders for forming the Kaiteriteri bridle track, subject to the consent of the Wairaea County Council. Proposed by Mr James, seconded by Mr Pattie, and carried, That a sum not exceeding 24s be expendeu on the Shaggery road, near Mr McLean’s property. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Pattie, seconded by Mr Cook, That'"")! the Valley road be repaired. / It was agreed that L 5 be spent —■ the purchase of small bird’s eggs, Mi* Cook agreeing to pay out tor same. On the motion of Mr Fry it was resolved, That the Secretary take the necessary steps to levy a special rate in connection with the small bird’s nuisance. This concluded the business.
