LAUNDRY EDUCATION.

The classes now being held by Mr Coxon, the laundry expert, are meeting with great favor amongst the ladies of the Motueka and neighboring districts, an evidence of which is shown by the increasing attendance each day. The instruction given is undoubtedly beneficial, and it is not to be wondered at that throughout the whole of the South Island, from the Bluff upwards, Mr Coxon has been the recipient of highly flattering testimonials (in some instances taking the shape - of valuable mementoes) from Education Boards, school teachers, clergymen, leading citizens, and others. Mr Coxon’s lessons are essentially practical ; the whole process of starching, ironing, and polishing being intelligently explained, and the pupil made to copy the master, who rightly sees that his system is followed. "We have had an opportunity of watching Mr Coxon at his work; his methods are simple, and his dexterity is, after a few lessons, transmitted to the disciple, who goes away perfectly contented, and in the case of the maiden with the knowledge that her future partner will, as regards the condition of his collars qnd cuffs, be the envy of his fellow beings. We would strongly urge the ladies of the district to avail themselves of the instructive lessons given by Mr 'Coxon and to see that their daughters attend the classes. The visit to Motueka is of short duration and cannot be extended as Mr Coxon is due on tbe West Coast, whither he goes at the close of the Motueka demonstrations.
