PUBLIC TRIAL.
A large number of farmers and others assembled at Ngatimoti on Thursday to witness a public trial of the famous Oliver ploughs, which took place in a paddock belonging to Mr G. Dines, kindly lent for the occasion. A great deal of interest was taken in the work done by these implements, which are adapted for hillside ploughing or forturning up flat land. The ploughs are easily manipulated and the class of work done was highly spoken of by those who witnessed the trial. Judging by the business done,' as reported by tKe local agents Messrs Rankin and Sons, the farmers have evidently realised the fact that this class of implement will do much better .vork than the old fashioned style of long beam andmould board, and with considerably less power.
Mr H. Rankin and Mr J. S. Bryant, travelling agent, were present at the trial.
