Blackmore, Government Pomologist, informs us that he has been busy of late in Christchurch, bringing under the notice of the public and the press, the quality and excellence of the pulp sent out by the Motueka Fruit Gromers' Syndicate. Ifc has been favorably received and commented upon and he has no doubt there will be a strong demand for it in the nearfuture. He has also been supervising the packing of 1,400 cases of apples and pears for the English market and is arranging for a further shipment of 4,000 cases. Mr Blackmore intends to return to Motueka as soon as possible. The Takaka News says : Sluicing is going on steadily at the Takaka Sluic ing Company's claim at the Bubu, and the boxes have been cleaned up on several occasions, the actual results, however, are not made public, but we . believe they were satisfactory. j We regret to hear that the whare belonging to Mr Charles Lewis, surveyor, at. Table Land, was destroyed by fire on Saturday afternoon.
