THE PRINCE OF WALES.
Albert Edward, the eldest son of Queen Victoria, was born November 9th, 1841, and, therefore, on November 9th, 1862, he completed his twenty-first year. " Prince of Wales" was the appellation given to the second son of King Edward 1., who annexed Wales to the English Crown in 1276, and ever since that period the eldest son of the English monarch has taken the title. Few Princes have attained their majority under more favourable auspices than our present Prince of Wales. Blessed by a kind Providence with good health, and, until twenty years of age, with the wise counsels and constant care of a good father, no heir to England's throne ever enjoyed such advantages as Albert Edward. i
