In the hope of promoting this object, I shall have much pleasure in placing al your disposal the sum of One Hundred Pounds, to lie paiil to the person who, within Sis Months from ibis date, shall discover a Seam of Coal, which, in point of quality and locality, (as to distance and accessibility) .shall, in your opinion, be of practical value to the Port of Auckland for the purposes of Steam IVavigation. I shall be glad to leave it lo yourselves to make any further explanations which you may think it desirable to add, with a view to the attainment of the desired object.
