Wedderburn.
The annual shooting for the Arthur Cup took place on Saturday, November 3rd, on the Wedderburn range. The weather was anything but good for shooting, the light being sometimes that bad you could hardly'see the target, and at the same time a very tricky wind was blowing. Some good average shooting was done by most of the members at the 300 and 600 yard ranges, but after the luncheon adjournment the weather conditions got far worse, and at the SOO yards range several of the members failed to reach the target. The cup was won by vice-president T. A. Lowis (being his second win, after an interval of three years) with a total score of 82, whilst Rifleman A. Nelson was second with 73, and President D. Duncan (last year's holder of the cup) was third with a total of 66. The gold medal was won by Rifleman D. Duncan, jun. ? with a total score of 7S.
In the afternoon there was as usual a shooting match with miniature rifles for married and single ladies, when Borne fairly good scores were put on the target.
The Married Ladies' Match was won by Mrs D. Duncan with a total score of 50, the trophy being a salad bowl. The Single Ladies' Match was won by Miss Dora Duncan with a total score of 61, with Miss Shea, second with 49 from scratch. The trophy was a ladies' handbag.
After the matches were finished the ladies served aftermon tea, which was very acceptable, as there was a keen wind blowing at the time, and it required something to warm the inner man.
