Office-bearers.—President, Mr W. Crawford. Committee, Messrs Hanrahan, Pringle, Mountney, Pinder, Bandy, Forrester, Why to, M'Gill, De Corsey, Murray, Convery, O'Neill, Millar (secretary). A patriotic football tournament was held at Kanfurly last Saturday, and was very successful considering the short notice and unpropitious weather. A heavy gale blew all day, which interfered with goud play and marred the pleasure of playerß and spectators. At times it was impossible to kick the ball against the wind, and passing was next to impossible. Eight teams, including three seniors, competed. The results were:— l

Schoolboys.

In the first round Ranfurly met Naseby, and the former Bcorud a victory by sto 3. The winners then met Patearoa and were defeated by 11 to 3; the capi thus going to Patearoa. The victors had the strongest and biggest team. Dowling scored for Ranfurly. Hamilton and O'Neill and another boy scored for the winners, one try being converted.

The players were:—Ranfurly: W. Mawhintey (captain), A. M'Cambridge, S. Slater, M. Hanrahan, W. Dowling, T. Mawhinney, B. Dougherty. Naseby: E. Scherp, W. Marslin, S. Graham, W. Dowdle, C. O'Malley, C. George, E. Davis. Patearoa: V. M'Atamney, F. M'Skimming, T. Hall, W. Duffy, E. O'Neill, R. Hanrahan, V. O'Neill. Juniors. The only teams were Naseby and Ranfurly, and the former won by 6 to 0. thus annexing the silver medals. After a close game for a good while, H. Graham crossed the line, "and Thomson registered a. second try. Both attempts at goal failed. Teams. Naseby: H. Graham (capt)., T. Kennelly, W. Jopson, R. E. Squire, M. Holland, E. Gale, K. Thompson. Gimmerburn and Ranfurly met first, and the former put up 6 to nil. the scores being two tries by W. Helm and G. Shaw. Naseby v Alexandra.—When these two teamß went out, it was considered that one or the other would carry away the gold medals, for Alexandra had a likely looking team, while Naseby's was composed of superior players. The game w&s very willing, the sides being well matched. Marshall got a penalty goal and a visilor (S. Tohill, we think) got a try from line out in the lower corner, leaving the score 3 —3.

.Alexandra and Gimmerburn met with the result no score. A green player got across the line but the score was disallowed for a knock on.

When Naseby and Ranfurly met, the former put up the good score* of 11 to 0. Norrie made a good Bprint with the ball and fell, but Forrester got possession and passed to Smith who scored, and Norrie converted. Marshall and Smith added another 3 each.

Naseby and Gimmerburn played tha final round. Norrie quickly ran through and gained a try> while Forrester next potted a neat goal, and K. Marshall scored another try which Norrie increased, leaving Naseby winners by 12 to 0.
