Hospital Committee.

The monthly meeting on Tuasday evening was attended by—Messrs Parker (chair), Inder, Fraser.and Hore. The minutes were read, and confirmed on the motion of Messrs Fraser and Inder.:

Theinw'arded correspondence included a letter from Miss Adeline Jonei, Dunedin, applying for a probationer's position when a vacancy occurred, Miss Campbell (relieving matron) replied thanking the committee for their letter of appreciation of her services, "and Miss Kelly sent in her resignation as matron. The outward correspondence included the letter to Miss Campbell above referred to, one to Miss Collie, Dunedin, (an application for a pro- , bationership) intimating that ther« was no vacancy at present, and one to the Southland Board informing them of tbe admission of a patient from Invercargill. The inward correspondence was received and the outward approved,, motion of Messrs Fraser and Inder.

The doctor's report showed that at date of last return the.e were foar males and three females in the hospital,and the adm ssidns were three and Bev,en respectively, making the total treated 17. ; The discharges two males and four females, and one male had died, leaving under treatment four males and six females. There were four births during the month—one male and three fema'.ed, and four outpatient's made 21 attendances. Donations: Vegetables, Mrs Dowle, Waipiata; eggs, Miss Jack; oysters, Mrs Alex. Brown; biscuits, fruit and cake, Mrs Mathias, Waipiata. The report received on the motion of Messrs Hore and Inder.

It was resolved to get the groseries from Mr Brown during the month and that, Mr Ward cart the coal. Accounts amounting to £ll9 9s 9d were!presented and recommended for payment with the exception of one , charging 13s a day for cleaning windows, which it was decided to reduce to lis a day, the 13s being-considered unreasonably high,

It was resolved, as the Government had increased the old age pensions, to refund 5a a month to tue recipients. The secretary was instructedtto interview the livery stable keeper re charges for horse hire and driver for ambulance.
