Deputation.— A deputation of the persona who had signed a memorial against the alienation of the remainder of Run So. 92 had an interview with the Warden. Tks ; memorial, which had been referred to the Warden for_ report, was read, and its statements enquired into, and further particularsfurnished to the Warden. The land iix question appeared to be an area of 1200 or 1400 acres, lying between the boundary of the Maerewhenua Hundred, which is all sold, and the Maerewhenua River. The miners alleged, in support of the memorial,that some of them were intending t» extend? their races along the spur below Livingstone,, ■where hitherto there has been no mining. It was also stated that the area would takein the outlets of Golden Guliy and Eureka Gully. The only actual mining at present within the area was at the- claim, of JohnM'Quade, close to the township- of Livingstone. The Warden promised to report thesubstance of the matters advanced by the; deputation.
