MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.
The ordinary meeting was held on Thursday, the 22nd inst., at the Council Chambers, Town Hall. Present—His Worship the Mayor, Crs. Dillon, Craig, and Brookes. ELECTION OF MAYOB. The Eeturning Officer (Cr. Brookes) reported the re-election of Louis William Busch to the vacant office on the 16th inst. MINUTES. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. COBBESPONDENCE. Copy letter by Town Clerk, in reply to Colonial Treasurer, informing him that the Naseby Municipality is one constituted under the provisions of " The Otago Municipal Ordinance, 1865," and that no petition has been presented to the Governor, under section 15 of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," and that the branch Bank of New Zealand here is the bank appointed as the depository of all money's belonging to this Corporation. Memo, from Chief Postmaster, Dunedin, in reply to the Mayor, stating that in future a mail will be despatched via Teviot and Clyde, reaching Naseby at 2 30 p.m., and will leave tor Dunedin by the same route every Tuesday at 10 a.m.,' and thanking him (the Mayor), for a copy of the ' Mount Ida Chronicle', containing an article on mail services to and from Naseby. Letter from Messrs. Flannagan and M'Grath, asking for three months extension of time to make good the road (Nessstreet. Granted, upon condition that the security be renewed. Letter from Eichard Moore, requesting extension of time (twelve months) to fill in his tail race, and make good the road (High-street) near Mrs. Lawson's. Three months only granted, and that the same security be given as formerly.
FINANCE. Accounts amounting to £6 13s. were passed for payment.
