The first Dunedin mail, mode up on Wednesday and Bent via Clyde arrived yesterday at Naseby. The new arrangement will prove very convenient. We learn that what we fear was a dangerous fire occurred at Blackstone Hill yesterday morning. The fire was at Meesrs. Turnbull Brother's farm. Not oidy the bulk of this year's crop was in stack, but also that of last year. A house and dray are reported as burnt. If thiß is so, it seems most probable the stackyard is gone. Messrs. Turnbull Brothers are noted for industry, and their loss of property will be very generally regretted. The second anniversary oftheArV of Safety Lodgfi, 1.0. G.T., was celebrated last night, in the Masonic Hall, by a tea-meeting and concert. About seven o'clock the brethren formed in procession, and marched through the town headed by the Naseby Brass Band. The tables were abundantly supplied with many tempting articles provided by tr<e sisters, who efficiently superintended. A concert followed, which was of a moat enjoyable nature. Bro. the Rev. J. Hobbs ably presided. A correspondent from St. Bathans writes: " The inhabitants of this district met with a great treat on the evening of Thursday, 22nd instant. Mr. W. .1. Barry delivered a lecture in the schoolhouse, St. Bathans, on the outlines of his manuscript that he is how sending to England for publication His lecture lasted for an hour and a half, during which the lecturer kept his audience in good humor, relating his experience from the year 1829 to the present time. He informed them th?t he was still adding to his manuscript in his present tour. We wish him good houses wherever he lectures, as he is. well worthy of a visit,"
