CRICKET MATCH.
In the cricket match played at Palmerston between the ft aseby and Palmerston Clubs the home eleven obtained an easy victory. The fielding of the visitors was very poor, being in marked contrast with that of their opponents.; The Palmerston captain, Mr. Wilson, won the toss, and aent in the Naseby men. W. Currie and Wade went iirst to the wickets, but did not remain long in company, YY ade being caught. The rest of the team were quickly disposed of, M'Huteheson and Sandow, only making a stand, both playing neat bats throughout. The whole were out for 36. The Palmerston men were also quickly disposed of, but, with 26 byes, arid the 3mart running of Cathcart, 106 weie obtained before the last wicket fell. The bowling of Snodgrass, Pagan, and Moore for Palmerston was steady and good, and the wicket-keeping of Cobden was a treat. For IS'aseby, M'Nab was soon disabled by a blow on the ankle, and M'Huteheson and Sandow, although straight, were unlucky, the ground throwing all their best balls over the wicket.. The second innings for Naseby, wickets fell fast, but the scoring was slightly better, 34 being obtained, with three wickets .to fall. The following are the 3cores :
