MINERS' ASSOCIATION.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Committee was held on Wednesday evensing last, at Mr. Busch's residence. Pre--sent: C. P. Roberts (Chairman), Messrs'. Jackson, Woodhill, Cooper, Webber, Moore, Wade, and the Secret tary. i
Mr. Eccles' letter, asking if there is any objection to the sale of a piece of land, (£ acre) on which the Welcome Inn stands, was again brought iip, and considered. After considerable discussion, it was resolved, on the motion of Mr. Shannon, that Mr. Eccles be requested to sink twb holes, one at the east and the other at the west side of his allotment, in order to satisfy the committee as to the nature of the ground. ,
The Chaibman called the attention of the committee to several matters of importance which occasioned a good deal of discussion and difference of opinion. Thejr were ultimately left over for further consideration. i
The Sechetaey stated that Mr- Bashings was expected to arrive at Naseby on the 9th inst., when it was considered advisable to appoint a deputation to wait upon him in reference to the Sludge Channel, and other matters connected with the Public Works. It was resolved on the motion of Mr. Jackson —" That the Chairman, Messrs. Shannon, Cooper, and the Secretary be !a deputation to wait upon the Goldfields Secretary." ; The usual vote of thanks to Mr. Busch terminated the meeting.
