Wabdxn's Coujbt:". (Before H. W. .Robinson, Esq., Warden.) Mining Lease Applications.—The hearing of the applications of R. Brown and Company, J. Johnstone and others, United M. and E. Company (Registered), James Phillips and others, -was adjourned to September 9. - Agricultural Lease Applications. The hearing of the applications of E. Gr. Dalgety and H. Handyside and others was further adjourned to September 9, no report having been received from the surveyor. Grants.—R. Johnstone, water race; J. Johnstone and others, diversion of main creek in "Welshman's Gully; E. Carr, tailrace ; GK Talty and another, protection. The application of Johnstone and others for diversion of creek was strongly opposed by E. Brown and party, who objected that, as the race in which the diverted creek would have r to be carried ran parallel to the channel, it might endanger their work in case of flood. After a lengthy hearing, the Warden decided to make the grant, subject to some conditions for the security of Brown's race where the diverting channel would have to cross it. A similar provision was made witn respect io Carr's tail race, which would also have to cross. Brown's channel.
