WASTE LANDS BOARD.

(Condensed from the ' Star.') The Waste Lands Board met last \wbek. Present: The Chief Commissioner, Messrs Butterworth, Clark, Strode, and Tolmie. Sir F. D. Bell inquired if certain land in Shag Valley had been reserved, and was informed, through Mr George Cook that it was proclaimed lately a Goldfield. Mr Cook agreed to give fresh notices for the appointment of an engineer to report on the race he prpposes to carry through the private property of Mr. B. Luks. It was decided that the Board, having decided to withdraw the land 'from sale applied for by Captain Mackenzie, through Messrs Kenyon and Turton, considered there was no case to submit to the Supreme Court. The withdrawal was directed to be notified in the ' Gazette.'
