Resident Magistrate's Court. . (Before H. W. Robinson; Esq., R.M.)

fVNeil v. Colling—(Saim £4, demage sustained;.to crops by.-pigs. Mr. Rowlatt for the plaintiff. It appeared that the ground on which the erbps'were situate was fenced on three sides, and open on the.fourth to ground held by another person, and that there was easy access for pigs across that ground. The evideuce with-regard to the actual damage was very conflicting. Judgment for ss. and G.s. costs. The Resident Magistrate declined to allow professional costs in this case. O'Neil v O'Conuell, and O'Xeil v. Nolan. —Both claims for £4> for similar damages. Judgmejt by consent for ss. and costs in each instance. - ■

Gilchrist v. for ;£4- r for damage sustained by pigs. Mr. liowlatt for plaintiff, Mr. Bailey for defendant. Judgment for £2 10s. and 6s. costs, and 21s. professional costs. Laverty v Gilchrist.—Claim for £7, value of three pig" alleged to have been killed by defendant. .Mr. Bailey tor plaintiff, Mr] Rowlatt for defendant. The defendant admitted.having, o,n se,Y,e-_ ral occasions killed two young pigs that were in his corn, but argued that he had a right to do so under the Pig and Poultry Ordinance. Judgment in', this case was, by consent reserved, the case being adjourned for judgment till t!;e next day, at the Court at Macraes.
