RATES WITHIN LEGAL LIMIT.

Following on the deputation of l atepayers which waited upon the Borough • Council at a recent special! meeting re the installation of ‘‘talkies,” Messrs E. Woods, H. Berry and C. Hunt again waited upon the Mayor and Town Clerk at the Council Chambers on Thursday afternoon re valuation and rates. The deputation produced certain comparative figures which they alleged indicated that the : Council had levied the current year’s rates in excess of the limit provided by law.
