THE HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT.
The iDepartment of Agriculture has received the following cablegram dated 16th instant from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London :
Hemp:—'Manila market firmer early this week, and on reserve of sellers. “Iv” grade November- • January shipments sold up to £23 15/-, but closed easier at £23. ISisal improved in sympathy. Tanganyika Ist grade good marks No vembor- Ja nu ary shipment sold £22 10/-. Fair average quality October-December shipment now held for £22, 2nd grade 20/- less. Mexican unchanged.
New Zealand continues without interest. Small business confined to oddments left over from last season at unreported prices. Values nominally unchanged.
