MUNICIPAL ECONOMY.
DEPUTATION WAITS ON THE MAYOR.
A deputation re pres outing a number of ratepayers waited upon the Mayor (Air. M. E. Perreau) last night with a request that further information he supplied to the ratepayers before installing municipal talkies and made other suggestions for the consideration of the Council whereby economies might lie effected to meet the present depression locally. The deputation consisted of Messrs Dr. W'vllie, F. Woods, 11. Berry.
In reply to the deputation the Mayor thanked them for the interest they were taking in municipal affairs and assuired them that any constructive suggestions would receive the careful consideration of the Council. He suggested that the deputation should voice its recommendations to /the Council at a, special meeting he would convene for the purpose. The deputation thanked the Mayor for the. patient hearing accorded them and assured him that all they desired was to assist the Council in the best interests of the borough.
