FOXTON WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

There was a recoil'd attendance a I ‘Thursday's meeting of the Eoxloii Women’s Institute, which included many new comers and a. verv enjoyable and instructive programme, was submitted. Proceedings opened with the singing id' the National Anthem and business was transacted. An amusing and instructive roll call on a. “cure lor corns,” called upon each member to suggest a possible cure. An exhibition of many pieces ot members' needle and handwork i reated much interest. The secretary read the Governor-General's speech delivered by His Excellency at the recent Wellington conference. A. delicious afternoon tea was dispensed by .Mrs. Barber and Misses Allen and E. Barber, the remainder of the afternoon being devoted to community singing and suggestions for the November meeting which is on. the third Thursday in that month.
