PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH SOCIAL.
A social organised by the combined committees of the ladies guild, was held in the schoolroom last evening. An enjoyable programme was arranged and a- very pleasant 'evening spent. During the evening the Rev. W . H. Nicholas on behalf of the choir, ladies’ guild, and friends in the congregation, presented Miss Littlejohn with a cheque to mark the anniversary of her twenty-five scars association with the church, ■'lie 'complimented M.iss Littlejohn on her consistent loyalty to her church and its work and interest, on her uprightness of 'life and trusted she would lie long spared to set an example of welldoing. Messrs .John Ross and A. .Stevenson on behalf ot the session and D. Bartron and R. Spoil's .fur the committee and M.csdames .Nicholas and Ross on behalf of the 'ladies, spoke in appreciation of the work; and character of Miss Littlejohn, while Mr. .1. K. ITornblow and others sent apologies for their absence. Miss Littlejohn briefly replied, thanking all for their kiud.ness.
During the evening recitations and songs were contributed by Miss Stevenson ami Mr. Barron, while the competitions were won by Mrs. M.cE'wan and Mr. John Ross.
